Earth Day 2022. So many thoughts and feelings this year. Really feeling the power and beauty of Life around us as we surge into spring. Had an empowering time speaking to youth at Cascades recycling plant yesterday - thrilled to work with the wonderful Naisha Khan (of Sustainabiliteens and DSF Gaptivist). So awesome being surrounded by people actively taking waste out of the landfills. Recycle, everybody!! Another big week of work at DSF- proud of working at this organization working towards solutions. I’m feeling particularly excited about our upcoming Clean Power Pathways report coming out soon- showing how it is now 100% possible for Canada to get to a clean energy reality. Today the sun shone and I so enjoyed walking my child home from school under the plum blossoms. Returned home to have an existential chat w my dear dad, carrying the weight of things. There is a lot of heaviness in our climate reality. But- the solutions are all here now. We need the energy and will to surge into the next phase, with joy, intention and empowerment. And we have such an important responsibility to recognize and remember the great beauty, power and possibility in nature that is right here, in front of our faces every day. Nature is so powerful and astounding, and we are but puny humans. There is a freedom in humility. Went for a bike ride w my fam breathing fresh air, and met a wonderful seal at the dock. Life is poignant and beautiful and precious. Each day we have here with our loved ones is a gift. Something to remember every day. #earthdayeverydamnday
Feeling grateful for some wonderful family times this long weekend. Also not pictured here: long ferry lineups and projectile vomiting from 24hr stomach flu! Classic famjam times.
